Stop and Think..

Have you been food shopping this week? Isn't it easy for us to nip to the local supermarket and get what we need - we even have the luxury of deciding which bottled water to Choose, which diet sheet to follow or even whether to eat meat or not.

What would we do in remote areas, no wells, water, with no vegetation in sight and only a few yaks to keep us company?

Many of us seek this kind of solitude but would we be willing - or able - to survive on dry biscuits and thin soups - forever? Not trying to make you feel guilty, just...stop...and think… this is reality for most of the people we work so hard for.

Realising that they don't have a choice - they don't even know what choice is. You have so much to give in comparison...a few pounds a month really does make all the difference.

How can we do anything to help?

No matter how large our own problems appear, there are still countless people in the world who are so much worse off and who barley get by; it is estimated that approximately 830 million people worldwide live below the 'breadline'.

Perhaps you share our view - that simply our sincere wish to help peopl like these can help us become part of Lama La's charity's path towards success.

No matter how large our own problems appear, there are still countless people in the world who are so much worse off and who barely get by…here are some facts:

  • 600 million children live in absolute poverty.
  • 30,000 children die each day due to poverty.
  • There are 2.2 billion children in the world. Number in poverty: 1 billion.
  • 400 million have no access to safe water.
  • Unsafe water & sanitation cause 4000 deaths per day.
  • Every year, more than 10 million children die of hunger and preventable diseases. That's over 30,000 a day, or one every three seconds.
