Our Founder - Lama Lekshey
The TCT founder is the venerable Lama Jamyang Lekshey, who is well known in the UK for his teachings and lectures of Tibetan Buddhism and also his compassion, humour, and understanding of the Western mind.
Lama Lekshey, born in Tibet, divides his time between his residence in India and the UK, travelling all over the world to meet with people from different cultures, give lectures and talks on Buddhism as well as Initiations. Lama La is also co-founder of the Sakya Thubten Ling in Bournemouth and director of the Sakya Centre in Dheradun, India.

Lama Lekshey was born in Sakya, Tibet and moved to Rajpur at the age of 3. He was enrolled as a student at the Sakya Centre and later went on to be one of the first students at the Sakya College in Rajpur. He was resident at the Singapore Sakya Centre from 1984 till 1989. His Holiness the Sakya Trizin recalled Lama Lekshey to Rajpur in 1989 to take up the post of Director of the Sakya Centre.
Lama Lekshey is also a founder member of the centres are Sakya Darchab Ling in the Czech Republic, Sakya Thubten Ling in the UK, Sakya Drogon Ling and Sakya Gephel Ling both in Spain. In the USA he has established the Tashi Phel Sakya Dharma Centre.
